Full text: List of Nobel Laureates (1939)

The prize for the vear 1936 was awarded jointly to: 
Dare, Sir HENRY Harrerr, dr., director of the 
National Institute for Medical Research in Lormn- 
don, born 1875; and 
Lorwi, Otto, professor of pharmacology at the 
University of Graz, born 1873; “for their dis- 
coveries velating to chemical transmission of 
nerve impulses’. 
The prize for the vear 1937 was awarded to: 
SZENT-GYORGYI VON NAGYRAPOLT, ALBERT, professor 
of medical chemistry at the University of Szeged, 
Hungary, born 1893; “for his discoveries vela- 
ting to biological combustion, especially with ve- 
gard to vitamin C and the catalysis of fumavric 
acid.” 
The prize fev tE. ar 1653 was reserved for the following 
year.
