“ STANLEY ” THEODOLITES
CHOOSING A SUITABLE THEODOLITE
SOME NOTES ON THE OUTSTANDING FEATURES OF STANLEY INSTRUMENTS
Stanley theodolites and levels are noted for their simplicity in design,
accuracy and strength in construction. These are most essential features.
An instrument which will withstand rough usage in the field whilst retaining
its accuracy and serviceability indefinitely is a great boon to the engineer,
especially when overseas and far away from the well equipped workshop.
The first essential in any instrument is, of course, that when in use it
shall yield the required accuracy. The degree of accuracy is the decisive
factor in choosing a theodolite and price is bound up with this. The
greater the accuracy the more expensive the instrument.
Stanley instruments are designed for various classes of work from
occasional use on small building sites and local drainage to vast engineering
projects such as hydro-electric. The models illustrated in this Catalogue
represent a carefully graded series covering most surveying requirements
and the description of each instrument includes some guiding notes to
customers in selecting the most suitable instrument for their purpose.
