new invention made by an Austrian engineer, Mr. George Kofler, is 
worthy of special attention and is likelv to obtain preference amongst 
the meehanical Systems to influence running trains on account of its 
usefulness, easy installation and manvsided efficiency. Solid construct- 
ion. The Kofler System of train blooking is, in spite of its technical 
subtility, of a very solid construction. The different parts are easily 
interchangeable and are of light weight to avoid a heavv meehanical 
strain on the apparatus. There is one more point to which we would 
like to draw the attention. Train blocking Systems for railway lines 
must work with a safety of ioo per cent. . . .
